Photoshelter...

Recently I signed up for photoshelter just to see why the pro photographers use it. Exploring through the different features of it I came across this new embeding gallery option. So after deciding to upload some pics of mine, I gave it a shot.

Very nifty. Maybe later on in the near future, I shall upload better pics in my photoshelter account.

CS3 editing...

Just a self portrait I recently took. Decided to do some editing on it when I discovered the "Unsharp mask" tool. Which left me with an image like this.

Panorama...

Heres another photomerged picture of my house. I finally realised the technique behind taking a panormaic photo. The key is to stay positioned in one place, where you are able to get a full view of your panoramic subject. As you take a photo of each section, remember to only move your camera from right to left. But do not move to another area.

A youtube video that may help you with taking a panoramic photo.

CS3 photomerging...

This is somthing I am really excited to show you. Its something I just recently learnt and did (thanks youtube). I wanted to take a full long pic of our dining room, hall and two rooms (the kitchen and my room). Unfortunately I do not have a 10-22mm lens - which I doubt would also do the job right- to capture the space. So instead I resolved to taking two different pics of the rooms

and then combing them both together, using CS3 [extended version] photomerge. The result was amazing. Sure there were a few imperfections. But once taken care, it looked like one whole photo.

This a video from youtube which greatly helped me. So, I reckon it may be of help to you aswell.

Swallowed...

I wanted to make it seem like the light was swallowing me in. So I adjusted the settings for an overexposure shot and stood in front of it. Good thing I chose to wear a dark shirt, considering its the only part of me that does not look disfigured.

Canon 5D & Nikon D90...

You most probably heard all the hype about the two new cameras in town. I myself could not help but see if the Nikon D90 and the Canon 5D actually live up to expectations. What makes these two cameras stand out from the lot? Well, not only do these two bad boys have loads of advanced features, but are also armed with an HD movie feature. You heard me right, movie feature on DSLR cameras.
Now I must admit, that is just down right radical. I mean not only are you capable of taking good pictures, but now also have the ability to take some pretty rad movie footage. So after digging around I managed to come up with these two incredible videos.
This video was taken from the Canon 5D. Plus, believe it or not, there was not post-movie editing. This full footage is raw, except for the standard nip and tuck. Incredible.

This next video was shot from the Nikon D90. Not as amazing as the previous footage, but its the best I could find from the 440 videos. You might need to be a tad patient with this one, since it was embedded from Vimeo.

And there you have it, two amazing videos from two amazing cameras.

Diwali lamps...

I was walking down the stairs when I spotted these tiny lamps. So I quickly ran back up to my apartment, grabbed my camera and took a couple of pics. I reckon this was the best one out of them all. Its a Hindu tradition to set these little lamps all over the place during the Diwali festival.

p.s. - Thanks to all those who took the time to make a comment on my previous posts.

Sunday Fair...

These are some of the portraits I caputred during a Sunday fair. Mind you it was a daunting task trying to capture an image while having hundreds of people stampeding around you. Nontheless I reckon I did an admirable job at it.

Macro...

I had a go at macro photography. Taking a pic of tiny bugs was out of the question, since the slightest movement can set them off into a flying frenzy. So I resolved to take a pic of drops of water on a leaf.

Down by the river...

Recently I visited my grandparents in the village. It was a tranquiling experience. Exactly what was needed to get away from the stress of the city life. I took these two pics while I was down by the river side. Bangalore is a landlocked city, so getting a view of the large water body was a real breath of fresh air.

Photomovies...

I was just passing my time surfing youtube for photography videos, when I stumbled over this amazing channel. It is called Photomovies. Just a couple of photographers who take pictures of women (Korean women, to be exact) using nothing but their cameras, mean lenses and the available light. Definitely a recomendation to those photographer buffs out there, check it out at:

Just jump...

Saudi Structures...

Since photography is banned in Saudi, all three of these pics were taken from the car. The first pic. is a mosque by the sea side. The second, is a newly constrcuted buidling (most probably going to be rented off as office space). The last pic. is what seems to be a light house, still under construction.

Old lady...

I managed to capture this photo on the way to college. She sells garlands right next to a temple.

The fruit seller...

Just one of the old photos I found while browsing through my archives. I must say, I enjoy the way the man poses for the photo.

HD perfection...

This short, creative, faultless 14 second video is a whole new line of art. The quality of the video has been dulled a bit since it was embedded from youtube. But you can get the real HD and more amazing videos at :

Black & White portraits...

This is a series of black and white portraits of four boys in my class. The last one was done with an ISO of 400, while he was staring directly into the light. Truth be told, it was a complete accident. I failed to realise that the ISO was so high. But it turned out to be a photo worth blogging. No complaints.

Dramatic Lighting...

Took this photo today in college while walking about. I was much impressed by the pattern and the angle of the light on the marble. I am still learning the ways of my Canon EOS, so taking a perfect pic is still a bit tough. But, I reckon I am getting there.

KitKat + Coffee = Amazing Afternoon...

I was massively inspired by Jennifer Causey, who does any amazing job at just taking pics of the most simple of things. Most of her work comprises of simple daily pleasures.
Personal Favorite, Portfolio 4.

Ethnic Day...

Two days ago our college organized a function to show the different ethnicity's of the college. I managed to take this photo while a girl was doing an Indian dance on stage. (Click on the pic. to enlarge)

Blue hearts...

Recently, a little fair was being held to promote some underdog products. As I was browsing through the heap of things they had laid out, these two little blue hearts stood out.

Pink Flowers...

There is a park around the corner of my house, I decided to take my camera out there and take some shots of the flowers over there. (Click on the pic. to enlarge)

Life gives you lemons,make lemonade...

Clicked this pic. of lemons when I came across a street vendor making lemonade. Not to mention the numerous customers he gets on those abnormally hot days. (Click on the pic. for a larger view)
